Bridal Lingerie

Sometimes called Bridal Lingerie – is a particular class of lingerie.  While it's intended to be as sexy as any other kind, it's usually a little more restrained in its style, with elegance and romance emphasised.  For obvious reasons, it is very often white, ivory or soft pink, in keeping with the occasion and the rest of the bride's clothes.

There are three different kinds of wedding lingerie, which are distinguished from each other depending on when and how you plan to wear it.

The most common wedding lingerie is basically similar to the more commonly worn types of lingerie – it's sexy lingerie worn under a wedding gown, to make the wedding night that extra bit special. In purchasing this kind of wedding lingerie, you should pay even more attention than usual to whether it creates lines in your wedding dress – because that's not something you want.  For the same reason, strapless brassieres in white or skin tones are also popular choices for wedding lingerie.

The second type is wedding lingerie that is specifically chosen for the wedding night, but not worn until the bride and groom are alone.  There's something to be said for slipping away and getting changed into one last special surprise for the night of nights – it can be the perfect way to begin the end of a perfect day.  When buying wedding lingerie for this purpose, keep in mind that it may well be late at night when you're changing into it – you may well be tired and tipsy by this point, so selecting something that looks great but is easy to put on (and take off!) is a good idea.

The final type of wedding lingerie is the sort is intended to either partially or completely replace a wedding gown.  It's still pretty sexy stuff, but usually a little more discreet than most lingerie is.  If this is the option you're going with, you'll need to choose with great care – after all, you're going to be looking at those wedding photos and videos for the rest of your life, not to mention that choosing such an outfit will make it a lot harder to find something matching for the bridesmaids to wear.

You should definitely consider which of these three possibilities you're purchasing for before making your selection, so that you can buy wedding lingerie that's appropriate to the purpose you plan for it.  Because whichever way you choose to go, you'll want it to be as perfect as the rest of your wedding – maybe only your husband's going to see the bridal corset you're wearing as wedding lingerie, but you want that sight to be something he still remembers happily on your golden anniversary!

Of course, there's no reason why the wearing of wedding lingerie needs to be confined to your wedding night.  A lot of couples like to wear wedding lingerie during the honeymoon as well, or to help celebrate an anniversary.

In fact, there's no reason why it can't be worn at any time, just to add a sense of the erotic and romantic to the occasion, and spice up the relationship.
